Our centre has trained volunteer tenant mediators in cooperation with real estate companies in Helsinki and Tampere. They are volunteers who do not receive a salary. They promote peace in housing and the resolution of disputes in neighbourhoods through restorative mediation. They work in pairs and receive support and guidance from the centre's staff. Resident mediators follow the same mediation process as the Centre's professional mediators. They also contribute to the work on peace in housing by giving speeches, sharing their experiences and participating in housing-related network meetings.
