We are happy to announce that the Neighbourhood Mediation Centre is now Centre for Residential Peace (CPR). With the new name, we also launched our completely redesigned website (asumisrauha.fi).
Our new name, the Centre for Peace in Housing, better reflects what we do and who we are today. In addition to traditional mediation, our values, services and future direction include multidisciplinary work for housing peace. For example, if there is a dispute in a residential community but the parties do not actually feel they are in conflict, we may take a more informative approach to housing peace work.
Restorative justice mediation is still one of our core areas of expertise and after more than a decade in the housing field, we are one of the best mediation experts in Finland. Our services also include community mediation and its variation, community dialogue, which is already familiar to many of our partners and can also be used to deal with situations affecting a wider residential area.
We are constantly developing our activities to better meet the needs of the people who come to us. The need for flexibility and creativity in responding to the needs of clients, even when, for one reason or another, basic mediation does not seem to be the appropriate method, has been the driving force behind the renewal and expansion of our services, above all in grassroots mediation. See the tabs for more useful information on our renewed services.
Our activities are still mainly funded by STEA, but our vision for the future is to strengthen and broaden our funding base. The renewal is also a step in the promotion and marketing of our services. The new website has been designed to be more user-friendly, informative and visually fresh.
We warmly welcome you to visit our new website!
